CUFF (Community Underground Film Festival) is an annual festival and competition that takes place each year on the campus of Community College of Philadelphia. We seek to promote and foster the development of student AND community filmmaking, as well as the appreciation of film as a relevant and dynamic form of expression. Along with the competition, we program a number of talks by film professionals and film scholars, and we present screenings of relevant features and documentaries.

$5 EARLY SUBMISSION FEE FOR NON-CCP STUDENTS
$10 LATE SUBMISSION FEE FOR NON-CCP STUDENTS
NO SUBMISSION FEE FOR CCP STUDENTS ONLY

The competition consists of three categories of short films under 10 minutes:

Narrative
Documentary
CCP Student (for Community College of Philadelphia students only).

Selected films will be featured in a live screening at the festival on FEBRUARY 7, 2019.

Winners of the competition in each category will receive $100 in addition to the live screening. A grand jury prize of $200 is awarded to the short film that the judges deem the best in the competition.

The Narrative and Documentary categories are open to all films, 10 minutes or shorter.

However, in order to submit in the CCP Student category, the filmmaker must be a current student at the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) with an active J number. CCP students are welcome to submit in the other categories, however, that submission cannot be the same film submitted in the CCP category.

Early Submission Deadline: October 31st
Late Submission Deadline: November 20th
Final Selections: January 20th

  • I had a really wonderful time at the CUFF event earlier this month. It was nice to view everyone's work in an actual auditorium with a huge projector screen. The complimentary snacks was a bonus, as was the interview segment prior to the screening, as well as the final farewell at the end. I hope to be invited back soon.
