Audree Stephens is a graduate student in the David Lynch MFA program in screenwriting at Maharishi university. She will graduating in spring 2023. With majority of her background in musical theatre performance, she chose to pull herself away from the actor's perspective, step back into her roots of creative writing, and get behind the camera! COME ON will be her directorial debut!
This film is deeply personal to me. It is inspired from my own high school experience of being a shy and anxious young woman surrounded by intense and nagging boys. At the time I was in high school, social media and technology were really taking off and everyone used and abused to their advantage, some certainly more than others. To my advantage, I used the text messages I received and channeled it into a script and eventually a short! I wanted to create and share this film because I think it's important to show what most young women in high school go through in hopes that there be change, of course with a horrific twist.
