Michael Fouther, born and raised in the vibrant Baldwin Village neighborhood of Los Angeles, he is a multifaceted individual who has excelled in both athletics and the arts. From a young age, Michael discovered his passion for football and dedicated himself to honing his skills. As a student at Susan Miller Dorsey High School, he became a standout player, impressing coaches and earning the respect of his teammates.
Michael’s unwavering commitment to the sport led him to a fruitful career as a defensive-back. He continued his athletic journey with full athletic scholarships to both Texas A&M University and University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he showcased his prowess on the field. Michael’s time on the football field taught him invaluable life lessons about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, shaping him into the person he is today. He left the gridiron to embark on an education in architecture and fine arts, enrolling in the prestigious Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI/Arch) where he received a bachelor’s of Architecture. Michael immersed himself in rigorous academic coursework, exploring the intersections of architecture and fine arts. His work seamlessly melds form and function, incorporating principles of sustainability and social consciousness—an embodiment of his deep-rooted commitment to enhancing the built environment while positively impacting the communities he serves.
With an entrepreneurial spirit, Michael took a leap of faith and opened his own design studio, which later transformed into the indie-production company known as equalaris productions. Michael’s journey as a filmmaker began with his first venture, a thought-provoking short film titled “Two Nickels and a Dime,” which he not only directed and edited but also co-wrote and produced. This initial success fueled his drive, and he soon produced his first feature film, the heartwarming romantic-comedy “Cordially Invited.” Never one to shy away from challenging projects, Michael delved into the world of documentaries with his newest project, “COA Life in Transit.” This documentary offers audiences a voyeuristic glimpse into the subculture of apparel brands and Venice Beach skateboarders which is currently in post-production.
