EPXCS is a talented London bred artist-producer and founding member of the minikingz label.
Ben Wangenye is a multi-award winning student filmmaker known for Peter Rabbit (2018) and has worked on projects that have featured on BBC, ARD German TV and Sony Pictures.
This film had been shot/edited by myself as part of one of my final year projects at the University and really pushed me as a filmmaker to discover more about myself. All the mistakes I have made have really led up to this, which I have learned through the process of creating this piece. The fact that there is a couple of exclusive clips to show the audience of an experience with the police is something that is unfortunately seen and experienced by a lot of black males from where we (EPXCS and I) both live. The locations are also significant as it also reflects EPXCS and gives the insight to show that he can go from being in Tottenham to spending his nights with producers at the studio.
It was also the first collaboration of film and music. As a first project that I have been credited for as a self-shooting producer/director, this film showcases my ability to adapt from producing award-winning narrative shorts to working as a sound technician for ARD German TV in Nairobi, Kenya where I was born and had been exposed to so many different stories from such a young age.
