CITIZEN SIS
A documentary about Vladimir Sis: Czech patriot and democrat, a publicist and a writer, who became a victim of Stalin repressions in the 50-ties. Despite his rehabilitation in 1969, he has been taboo to this day.
In practice, the film explores the Balkan, Czech and European history of the first half of the 20th century: The Balkan wars from 1912-13, the “MAFFIE” movement, the World Wars – as Vladimir Sis participated directly and actively in those events.
As a result of extensive research and a careful study, we succeeded to find many unknown to nowadays facts of the stunning and full with vicissitudes life of the great democrat and citizen Sis.
The movie is filmed in Bulgaria, Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Czech Republic and Slovakia. It includes Bulgarian and Czech researchers and close relatives of Sis.
