CHIAO ITALIA

Surreal comedy

provisional title :CIAO ITALIA or GANGO-5

(summary)

In Europe of economic crisis and in miserable Greece, a group of young girls - all unemployed (as is the case in all the European countries of the South), decide in their despair to commit a robbery in order to survive. They are addressing to a decrepit partisan so as to help them. The partisan puts her niece in charge of the young girls group.
While the robbery is preparing, a policeman - a remnant of the old Royal Gendarmerie, a racist and totally illiterate, is messing around ,creating hilarious situations and unknowingly keeping the robbery from taking place, which is eventually performed. The robbery plan, according to the partisan's demand is performed weaponless.

SUMMARY OF THE ROBBERY SCENE

A car arrives outside of the bank, the five girls get off the car impressively, they open the trunk and get disguised. Next shot : the five girls enter the bank wearing burqas. The bank's employees and customers are staring at them. The five girls form a circle exclaiming <<Allahu Akbar>>. The people scream << Jihads, jihads>> and try to get away.
The bank is empty now and the girls collect the money and disappear.

The team disappears in order not to be identified and lay low in an old partisan's hideout in a mountain. While investigations and interrogations are keeping on the policeman instead of solving the case, he makes things more complicated with his obsessions.

The ingenious niece disorientates the researches completely, leading the investigators at an impasse.

The decrepit partisan dies, cutting off any communication between the girls and the outside world.

Time passed, and the day that girls can go back to ''civilization'' has come. They find out that all their efforts had been in vain.

During the film, various news from television and radio will be heard in the places where action takes place, describing the irrational demands of lenders towards Greece and the other countries of the European South.

The film is aimed at the young people of Europe (mainly in the South) who are experiencing unemployment or getting paid by a low income/salary of 400 euros.
