CHECK
CHECK is a lighthearted yet provocative short film about a privileged young man who is suddenly challenged by a voice he assumed would always treat him with deference. By blending humour with a touch of sci-fi speculation and social concern, this film lets the audience chuckle while asking them how they respond to similar confrontation.

Born in Oakland, California, Richard immigrated to Toronto at the age of nine. Growing up in diverse urban cities provided Richard with a rich set of personal experiences that inform his work; as a multiracial filmmaker, his goal is to tell stories that depict the lives of diverse individuals and their cultures while making films that are deeply personal. His work has been shown in numerous film festivals and won several awards since 2009, when he completed his first feature-length screenplay.
