CHANGE CAN START WITH ME

CHANGE CAN START WITH ME was the only song I wrote in 2020. It was during the summer of the Pandemic. The lyrics are based on the events that happened during that time ie: Protests, BLM, Climate disasters, Hate, Struggle, Loss, Sickness, Loneliness. I was contemplating the Gandhi quote “Be the change you wish to see in this world.” I was also asking myself questions like “How can just one person make a difference? How can I make a difference?” Throughout my songwriting journey I usually write about things I need to learn, so initially I wrote this song just for me but a voice inside kept nudging me to release it. So here we are. After two months of casting, one day of filming, thirty-two actors performing, four months of editing, MY VISION WAS REALIZED. Here is CHANGE CAN START WITH ME. Director Biography - Cherish Alexander

Cherish Alexander has been directing music videos since 2003. She has directed videos for the LA based rock band "the Painkillers" as well as (3) music videos for the LA based alt band "Bella Bazarria". Having grown up in the film industry she is no stranger to casting and filmmaking. This is her biggest project yet with over 35 actors cast into a 5 minute music video.

Director Statement

Creating this video touched my heart in every way possible. Having over 35 actors/actresses singing about BEING THE CHANGE was so powerful esp during these times we are living in. Our shoot day was May 22, and there was a presence with us that full day that I can't explain. All I can say, is every person that was part of this project was meant to be there. My hope is that this video can be an inspiration for all of us to be better, and create a better world for our children's children.
