Director Statement

CC RIDER is a tribute to my Mother and the radical, fantastical, psychedelic way she taught me to see and understand the power and potential of the female identity. Her influence led me to the work of creators like Russ Meyer and Kenneth Anger at a very early age, since then I have lived to create worlds of similar expression - where women could explore their power through play without diminishing sacrifice or loss. I want to see female heroes through the same lens of deity that we've seen so many men; legions of lone rangeresses, banding together in ultimate love to fight the ultimate fight - not defined by the many restrictions that the male gaze has asserted on our sexuality but free from the heirarchial limits of age, color, body type or social standing. In short - this world is rough, and if a girl's gonna make it she's got to be tough. I wanted to see a sisterhood that I could believe in - something so powerful and true, that you can't help but believe in it too.

CC RIDER is adventure, joy, and love... very serious, not serious at all. This film is certainly best utilized as a psychotropic aide: for optimal results, consult your local dealer.
