Changing Climate, Changing Lives (CCCL) Film Festival is the first film festival on climate change in Thailand bringing young and diverse artists, environmental professionals, and audiences together to celebrate films about climate change and empower local communities. The 6th edition of the festival will take place in Bangkok and selected cities in Thailand, comprising film screenings, talks, immersive activities.

Program highlights from previous editions included special screenings of Bong Joon-ho's SNOWPIERCER, Sarvnik Kaur's Sundance-winning documentary AGAINST THE TIDE, Norway's Oscar® submission SONGS OF EARTH, and the Oscar® nominated documentary HAULOUT.

The film program for the 2026 edition of the festival will include:
1. Asian Short Film Competition: Showcasing approximately 30 Asian films, each under 15 minutes in duration.
2. Global Shorts: Featuring a diverse range of films under 40 minutes from around the world that address the climate crisis through distinct and innovative approaches.

ASIAN SHORT FILM COMPETITION
The competitive program presents about 30 Asian films of all genre, each with a runtime of under 15 minutes. Films selected in this program are eligible for these following awards:

1. Documentary Awards:
Grand Jury Prize: the winning film receives THB 50,000 (approximately 1,500 USD)
Jury Prize: the winning film receives THB 30,000 (approximately 900 USD)
Special Mention: the film receives THB 20,000 (approximately 600 USD)

2. Non-Documentary Awards:
Grand Jury Prize: the winning film receives THB 50,000 (approximately 1,500 USD)
Jury Prize: the winning film receives THB 30,000 (approximately 900 USD)
Special Mention: the film receives THB 20,000 (approximately 600 USD)

3. Audience Award
The festival audience judges this award. The winning film receives THB 10,000 (approximately 300 USD)

4. Young Filmmaker Award
This award is to recognize a director who is 25 years old and under. The winner receives THB 20,000 (approximately 600 USD)

5. Founder's Award
This award is to recognize a short film that promote voices of the unheard. The winner receives THB 20,000 (approximately 600 USD)

GLOBAL SHORTS
The Global Shorts program features a diverse selection of films that explore the climate crisis through unique and innovative perspectives. All films with a runtime of under 40 minutes are eligible for consideration. CCCL provides a screening fee for filmmakers accepted in this program.

Remark: The jury members and CCCL reserves the right to withhold an award if they find none of the entry merits a particular award and prize. The decision of the organizers shall be final.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Asian Short Film Competition
1. The competition accepts only short films produced or co-produced in Asian countries.
2. Short films must tell stories related to climate change impacts.
3. The total length of the film must be under 15 minutes (inclusive of the title sequence and closing credits)
4. Films are selected on the basis of quality and originality. No premiere requirement.
5. Films must be completed after January 1, 2023. We also accept previously submitted films.
6. Any film in a language other than Thai must provide English subtitles.

Global Shorts Program
1. The program accepts films from filmmakers worldwide.
2. Short films must tell stories related to climate change impacts.
3. The total length of the film must be under 40 minutes (inclusive of the title sequence and closing credits)
4. No premiere requirement. However, preference is given to Southeast Asian premiere or Thailand premiere.
5. Films must be completed after January 1, 2023.
6. Any film in a language other than Thai must provide English subtitles.

ENTRY CONDITIONS
1. By submitting the film, you as Licensor represent to Tonkla Rak Lok Foundation, a Thai foundation registered under the laws of Thailand (“Licensee”), which owns the CCCL Film Festival (the “Festival), that in making the film and in submitting the film for the Festival competition that the Licensor has not violated or infringed upon the Intellectual Property rights of any third party. The Licensor represents that they are the sole lawful owner of the unencumbered Intellectual Property rights in the film the submitted film.
2. The Licensor further represents that all necessary permissions and consents have been obtained and that the images, stills or video used or for all necessary other material used in the submitted film. Licensor retains the exclusive and sole responsibility for any loss or expense, and will indemnify the Licensee for all losses or expenses incurred, in any claim, proceedings or actions brought by any third parties in connection with a copyright or other Intellectual Property violation.
3. Licensor is responsible for delivering to the Festival a screener or preview link to your submitted film and you will maintain the Festival’s access to your film until January 15, 2026.
4. You may submit to the Licensee a work-in-progress or rough-cut version of your film. However, to prevent avoid any misunderstanding, as to the status of your submission, we recommend you work on your project until it’s ready to submit and submit the final cut by the announced due date for submissions.
5. The Festival is unable to provide criticism, advice or feedback regarding your film. If your film is selected for inclusion, the Licensor is required to deliver a film file and all promotional materials in a form as requested by the Festival.
6. The Licensor agrees that its film if selected for the Festival comes with an irrevocable license to the Tonkla Rak Lok Foundation, as licensee to use, and distribute and/or reproduce to third parties, any material in the film for the following purposes: CCCL film archive library, short clips, posters, stills, bios and photos and statements from the Licensor and their production team. The license extends to all promotional, marketing, or educational distribution purposes.
7. The Licensee reserves the right to change any provisions announced set forth in this License Agreement without prior notice, and any such change shall bind the Licensor upon the sending of notice of the change to it.
8. Entry fees are non-refundable.
