REGISTOS
"Registos" (Case history) is an autobiographical experimental documentary where the director reviews homemade tapes and films, memories of his childhood with a family surrounded by love, tenderness, and religion. Self-questioning about his gender identity, the director reveals, through those childhood tapes, his own relationship with those images, growing in a body and identity that he doesn’t recognize himself in.

Lourenço Pinheiro is a Portuguese filmmaker, born in Leiria in 2000. Graduated at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, in the fields of Screenwriting and Cinematography in 2021. Currently, he is working in the post-production sector on Color Grading.
The personal interest in experimental documentaries by directors, such as Ross McElwee and Chantal Akerman, was the motivation to conclude the graduation with a personal project that relates to that cinematic language. Registos (Case History) is his first movie, where he explores, through the relationship that he has with the images of his childhood, themes like gender identity, family, and religion.
