CAMPING TRIP
In the summer of 2020, two couples go on a remote camping
trip after months of a mandatory COVID -19 lockdown. At a nearby drop-off point, two goons decide to go rogue, inadvertently implicating the unwitting campers. What started as a fun-filled vacation turns into a test of loyalty and survival. Suddenly, the pandemic is the least of their worries.

Born from Chilean parents that immigrated to Canada in 1979, Demian and Leonardo Fuica grew up eating, breathing, and dreaming movies in Montreal. Their first feature film "La Run" (2011), was selected in the official competition at the 35th Montreal World Film Festival, the 4th Angouleme Francophone Film Festival, the 6th Crime Film Festival of Liege, and the 30th Quebec's Film Rendez-Vous. It was also nominated for best editing, best supporting actor, and best screenplay at the 2012 Quebec Jutra Awards.
“Camping Trip” is their second feature film and the first movie they both produce and direct in English.
"Camping Trip" was completely shot in August 2020 during the first wave of the Coronavirus pandemic. But we are happy that we could represent the psychological and emotional state of this pandemic on humans in a story of greed, ego, and other effects in a crisis.
After the review of our festival Dr. Rebekah Louisa Smith on the movie. We have noticed something that all festivals have missed. " Festival programmers would argue that the conversations about COVID & money troubles, get repetitive, to them it would feel like you’re trying to cover all aspects of COVID ". So my question to all of the festivals and critics is: How could I have covered all aspects of Covid if it didn't happen yet, I wrote this screenplay in April 2020?? Never thought that I would write something that would happen later today (the social divisions, the conspiracy theories, the people wanting to go back to "normal" whatever the cost, the greed, the criminal activity) but understand had to narrow it a bit. For a 250K CAD budget, it was a challenge to shoot this movie with all the Covid restrictions, weather conditions, and budget restraints, we were even able to fly over an actress from the UK and one from the US. We produced this movie in Canada without a single government grant or fund. We had to have proof of a negative covid-19 test for the cast and crew before coming to the set and we isolated the cast for the whole shooting, following the strict guidelines of CNESST and ACTRA (we had zero cases).
