Aviva Dawn is a nice Jewish girl from Chicago who spent the bulk of her adult life in Hawaii, working in restaurants, teaching ESL, and being a wife and mother. North Carolina called, and Aviva was accepted to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She wrote and directed a short film, "By Three", about the cycle of addiction, and developed the scripted series LOLO, based on her years in Hawaii as a wife and mother. She writes female-driven stories that use genre to amplify women’s inner lives.
"By Three" is a culmination of Aviva Dawn's observations of the homeless population in downtown Winston-Salem. She wanted to highlight the vicious cycle of addiction and the pitfalls the homeless fall into, all while having hopes that things will be different this time.
