By Faith, Denis
Denis is a Knight of Faith (at least in his mind). One night during a Bible study, the topic of sexual morality is broached, resulting in an uncomfortable confrontation.

Jeremy Ratzlaff is a self-taught filmmaker from Saskatchewan, Canada. He is somehow managing to stay inspired in the rural Prairies.
I spend a great deal of time thinking about faith.
It is at once a concept with broader cultural association (eg, “faith-based” communities); as well, a profoundly personal experience for the individual. I believe it is the latter within the context of the former where character study is ripe.
BY FAITH, DENIS is a short, simple exercise in cinematic minimalism. It is also itself an exercise in faith; Faith that whatever audience this film finds will actively fill in the empty spaces with their own experiences, both positive and negative, as they relate to religious & spiritual persuasion. How do these persuasions shape the way we see others?
