Born in Ondo State, Nigeria, Adebusola (Busola) Adeboyejo became interested in cinematography after taking a class at the Africa International Film Festival (ARIFF) in 2015. After their training, Busola fell in love with the intricacies and creative nuances of how the camera works. Out of 200 students, Busola, along with fifteen others, was chosen to participate in the summer Documentary Film and Photography program at Montana State University in the summer of 2017.
During their time in Montana, Busola shot the short film Ludomentis, which was selected as a semi-finalist at the Lake City Film Festival. After returning to Nigeria, Busola shot Sameness, which screened at ARIFF and IN-Short Film Festival.
As their love for film grew stronger, Busola began to build and collaborate with their first film crew of ragtag short-film makers called The Rebel Gang.
Busola moved to the United States to look for film schools in March 2017. While living in Texas, Busola collaborated on short films like Hurtful Truth, Call Me Za, and Before I Leave, and they are developing a new LGBT+ romantic web series titled Milk & Honey.
Upon completing their Associate’s from Houston Community College’s Filmmaking Program and studying for a B.F.A. at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, they look forward to collaborating with others while pursuing their passion for filmmaking and cinematography. Currently, Busola is experimenting with the natural look and shooting style by using sunlight--as seen in their newly released music video cover of Adekunle Gold's "Damn Delilah" song.
When Busola is not in class or on set, they are running a YouTube vlog where they read LGBT+ books, review LGBT+ movies and TV shows, and journal their summer adventures.
