Buro Sadhu

Buro Sadhu is a Psychological Drama and Thriller. This is a film which speaks about a man's journey from boyhood to manhood, his disturbed family life and relationships from rags to achievements.
Abir goes through a bad patch and gets addicted to alcohol. He gets submerged in addiction slowly and develops certain psychological disorders. His disturbed relationship triggers symptoms like hallucination and delusion. Slowly life gives him a second chance and he again tries to resurrect by involving himself in constructive work. He works seamlessly for a few years, but again his disorder slowly comes back. But this time he has a lot of things at stake. If he again falls into the trap of intoxication he may lose everything including a steady relationship. He starts losing his mind and again sinks into alcohol and gets into a lunatic mode. On the verge of his self-destruction suddenly something happens that changes his life forever. Abir is your next-door boy who leads an ordinary life. But the circumstances that he finds himself in, are not so ordinary. Through the dark patches of life, when he finally achieves everything or thinks that he has achieved, a single encounter turns his world upside down, where his very existence is questioned.
The story relates to everybody around us and its generic form has tried to point out certain social syndromes and fast-growing trends such as frustration, depression, anxiety, addiction believing in myths, eg., “Creativity enhances addiction “, difficulty to maintain relationships and other such problems. The film portrays various layers of human emotions and nature.
Buro Sadhu is a complete story which touches several aspects of our daily lives. It covers emotions of Love, Friendship, Betrayal, Achievement, and Lunacy. Most of all it has a secret that will jolt the audience out of their comfort zone. Aesthetically the film is shot in a different way and has tried to explore the beauty of the Ganges, its old ghaats and the upcountry part around greater Kolkata (“Moffoshol” around the river). The director has tried to give a fresh cinematic experience to the audience
