Director Statement

How will creators in podcasting, film, games, and immersive collaborate better to tell stories that delight and enrich audiences? That's the driving question that animates me and our use of new technologies like Generative Artificial Intelligence. I believe the beauty and power of human-led storytelling is an endowment worth cherishing and defending -- vigorously. Equally, I know that ever since the first cave dwellers mixed their colors and thought about light, storytellers have been nerds.

From painting to printing to broadcasting to downloading to whatever's coming next, we need storytellers to lead from the front. I believe the way forward is to create and distribute the best ethical and aesthetic work we can. Show audiences vivid characters, tough choices, lasting change. Tell important stories with delight and depth. Human creators already do that in spades.

Simultaneously, storytellers need to understand the new AI technology, its potentials, and its caveats. The tech industry might build it. But the street eventually finds the use. We are the original MacGyvers.
