Tian Hao Pei is a student filmmaker from Toronto, Canada. In 2021, he will be studying Film and TV Production at New York University. He will also be learning how to cook so he doesn't starve in college.
Completed within 48 hours, this short tale is a manic look into the perspective of an accidental murderer who fell for one of the cheapest photography-pranks there is: bunny ears.
The spirit of production was very much seizing the moment. Priority was placed on catching those moments of inspiration during a bright sunset, shooting and planning shots almost simultaneously. The energetic rush of production contributes very well to the high-energy tone influenced by the likes of Wright, ZAZ, and those weird SpongeBob episodes where he just freaks out for 9 minutes.
The goal was very much just to get a good laugh out of people. Take life a little less seriously, you know? No matter how bad it gets, it's probably not going to be 'I killed my friend with a polaroid camera' bad.
We hope you enjoy and have a good giggle.
