South Windsor, Connecticut born, LA-based indie pop singer and songwriter Jackie Lipson has been surrounded by music her whole life and works to be a role model in her community- speaking to youth about body image and mental health awareness.
After appearing on UniversalNBC’s The Voice, Jackie fearlessly packed her bags and moved to Los Angeles, not knowing anyone who lived there. A coincidental meeting introduced her to Vanessa Wheeler, artist and guitarist professionally named VAVÁ and bassist/producer Francisco Ojeda, leading to an explosive debut single in 2020 “Someday”. "Someday" speaks to the generation of lost millennials who are really, really just trying their best and landed on Spotify’s Fresh Finds, New Music Friday Denmark, Music for a Workday, Billboard, Audemars Piguet’s and Chani Nicholas’ Cosmic playlists and praise from Billboard.
Jackie, while in casting for another television opportunity, released singles "Stuck" and "Air After Rain," and “Someday” re-imagined as a danceable remix by Shakur Ahmad (Remix Credits: Glass Animals).
Jackie’s vocals and her single “Someday” can be heard as part of Audemars Piguet’s 2021 music series entitled 180, episode 2, a glimpse into the collaborative music writing process with Betta Lemme (Ultra).
Jackie shares vital messages of LGBTQ+ joy and the vibrance of the Queer creative community by sharing space and creative works in her ongoing conversational series published by Autostraddle featuring Chani Nicholas, Victoria Canal, Jayli Wolf, and Mila Jam, to name a few.
Jackie desires to change the social conversation about self-image and body politics through her music and visual story-telling and also engage with others who have had similar experiences. “I’ve managed body insecurity and disordered eating my entire life,” Jackie says, “To reveal so much of myself, and so freely in the Bully music video was both terrifying and incredibly liberating.”
