The Buddha's gaze has witnessed the mortals' repeated mistakes; they are always sunk in the depth of not achieving the right thing.

Director Biography - Di Wang

Born in Enshi, Hubei in 1997, Tujia nationality.
Director/Actor/Independent Photographer
Graduated from the Yunnan Academy of Arts, majoring in drama, film and television director. Started short film creation during college, works category Variety of types (story, experiment, record, stop motion animation).
《Southern Wind》 was nominated for the 12th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival in South Korea and the New Era Competition section of the 5th NEW ERA International Film Festival. Produced film 《The Vessel’s Isle》 won the Best Director award at The 5th Pingyao International Film Festival and was selected for the "HAF Goes to Cannes" film project at The 20th Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum. 《Awakening Hills》 was nominated for the "Pingyao Corner" section of The 6th Pingyao International Film Festival.

Director Statement

This film derives from my understanding of reality and unveiling the truth is such a precious act. The fun can be grasped because the images in the film feature a delusive narrative style. In modern life, such a daily story is common, but has its unique
sparkles; they are neglected every day. With a changing image style, the film appears to be both documentary and fictional. In the face of any non-conventional event, I chose to film in a non-conventional way with an objective attitude specifically from a
creator's perspective. With only one shot and one camera stand, the end suddenly came just after the truth got uncovered. The reality behind the lies was interpreted through this anti-traditional production method.
