Reality / Fiction / Absurdity The importance is believing, confessing, affirming, swearing and defending it without seeing it; if you don't, with me you are in hostility, huge and arrogant people.
Bruno Atkinson is an independent filmmaker based in South London.
He has a particular interest in the intersection between film and literature, and how the line between reality and fiction is mediated and complicated through the use of narrative.
His recent shorts include "Profit Motive and the Endless Sea" (in distribution now), "Area Boys" (in development, starring Kenyah Sandy and Selorm Adonu), "Upper Air" (Finalist, Stockholm City Film Festival; Semi-finalist, London Indie Shorts Festival; Official Selection, Manchester Film Festival & Hinterlands Rural Film Festival) and "Dusklands" (Official Selection, Oxford University Short Film Festival).
He is also an internationally exhibited moving image artist, having made work for the BBVA in Spain, the Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote in Lanzarote and Fusion Arts in Oxford.
While at university he was elected as President of the Oxford University Filmmaking Foundation, where he funded the OUFF-BAME film fund, the only student-led fund dedicated to ethnic-minority filmmaking in the UK. He is currently a film programmer on the Culturala advisory board.
His goal is to tell forward-thinking and experimental stories while bringing together teams of diverse and socially-conscious filmmakers and professionals.
