Director Biography - Jomara Jade Tichina Roletti

Jomara Roletti is a versatile filmmaker, director, editor, writer, and photographer with a strong sense for visual storytelling. Born and raised in Suriname, she brings a unique perspective to cultural narratives, which she translates into powerful art through film, photography, and events. As co-founder and president of The Under Foundation, she supports emerging artists in Suriname and promotes the local arts and culture sector.

Jomara’s work as a filmmaker is impressive and diverse, with her debut film, *Bruine Suiker* (Brown Sugar), being a standout achievement. This film, screened at the PREN-Ki Suriname Short Film Festival, has solidified her position as a leading voice in the Surinamese film world. Her skills span the entire production process, from directing and producing to writing and editing.
