$ Broke Boi
A weed delivery boy, with dreams of being an NYC Hustler, gets robbed of his stash and profits at the worst time. He was late with the payment last week, racked up some poor performance reviews, and the company’s Henchmen "Don't play no games". Now, this #Brokeboi and friends have twelve hours to make as much money as they can to pay back the supplier, while also trying to make it to the “Party of The Summer”.

Mecca Medina-
Mecca Medina is a passionate director, producer, and actress who has done work across a variety of mediums ranging from stage to film and web content.
In 2017, she co-founded Melanin & Magic Productions - a company devoted to telling the stories of young black women and increasing their representation on screen. Through this partnership, Mecca further realized her passion for telling stories that heal, which has led to a new YouTube series “Crush: The Series” and “The Apartment.”
Both projects were released under Where The Lights Are Productions - a production house by Mecca McDonald geared towards introspective stories of black culture.
David Bell-
David Bell is a first-generation Caribbean-American filmmaker inspired by life's beauty. Identifying as a multi-facet artist, David strives to work with artists who bring refreshing and captivating stories to the world.
Starting in 2018, he began to write, direct and act in his own short films. One of them"Things Could Be Worse" gained festival recognition. David loves to record on a sony Handycam for fun and share memories. He is always down to chat over a doughnut.
"Broke Boi" is a testament to what can be accomplished with passion, determination, and a supportive community. Co-writers David Bell and Steve Jeanty sat together to create a film where they could not only cast their talented friends and create a story that the world could love. At first glance, $Broke Boi is a story of down on his luck drug dealer. We have seen the troupe many times because there is truth to it, so as a creative team we worked to shine a light on the ups and downs of an everchanging path so that you can see Victor, TY, Shyan, and Deborah in yourself. www Not just in the hustle life but about all races comingling and cohabitating in this country. I want to see Stories of black and brown people living life winning and losing (Losing more because ya know DRAMABBY!). I believe that films like $Broke Boi can bring people together under a common understanding of working to stay buoyant in a world that is constantly pulling you down. I am excited to continue to show this film to the public and continue creating stories that can unify all of us.
