Britt Banks is an award-winning director and screenwriter whose passion for storytelling stems from her background in theater and performing arts. Dedicated to amplifying the voices of women and girls of color, Britt's work explores socially relevant themes with emotional depth. Her impactful short film, Thicke, which delves into the aftermath of police brutality, has received numerous awards and grants. Her award-winning short film Blue Laces was acquired by Magic Johnson's Aspire TV, showcased internationally at Academy-Qualifying Film Festivals, and honored with a screening at the prestigious Directors Guild of America. In 2024, Britt wrote and directed We Are Not Okay, a short film addressing the dangers of informal kinship care, Executive Produced by Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith of Top Dawg Entertainment. Britt is a participant in Ryan Murphy Productions' Half Initiative Director Shadowing Program and a recipient of The Future of Film is Female pre-production grant.
