Bringer of Light
A home movie shot on Super 8 and 16mm celebrating my son Luca, and my journey of motherhood so far in his 7 years of life. Mostly narrated by Luca himself from recordings made by me and my friends over the years, and including sound by Parisian friends Aurore Bouret and Dorothée Arnaud. This is a celebration of the awesome ageless wisdom of children, and of their luminescent vitality, beauty and joy! The name Luca means 'Bringer of Light'.

Lalita Bliss is a filmmaker working with mostly Super 8 film. Born in the UK, she has lived in Germany, Australia, Portugal and Iceland. She is fascinated by generating synaesthetic experience through artist cinema and has had her work shown globally at festivals and galleries, and completed a residency at LIFT in Toronto. She runs Nectarella, the home of her creative offerings that support the embodied blissful experience of being alive.
I work with Super 8 and 16mm film, which I process by hand. My filmmaking approach is artisanal, constantly experimenting with materials and techniques to combine process and material with feeling and concept. I do a lot of my initial editing by hand using a guillotine splicer. Fascinated by the materiality of the image, I seek to materialise unique visions and emotions in the sensual blissful body of the spectator.
