Breathe In
In ancient times, the famous philosopher from the Allegory of the Cave used to take long walks in this park while discussing theories with his students. The park, situated in a tranquil area of the city of Athens, still contains remnants of old columns and stones from that ancient era. The local residents use this park, named "The Academy of Plato," for their daily activities—walking the dog, playing games or instruments together, and even training for boxing matches. Particularly in a city where green spaces are diminishing, the park serves as a haven for breathing.
While the old story of Plato attracts some tourists, the park remains primarily utilized by the residents. What would happen if the park gates were closed, the trees were cut down, entry required a fee, and the entire area became a museum for paying visitors?
In this project the residents express their thoughts and wishes on this future possibility, as well as their counterproposals.
