Experiencing Interruptions?

"Breasts and Thighs"

Rose and Evelyn are Italian mothers who just want their kids to be happy. Rose's son, Tony, is handsome and affable. He has just returned to his home in South Philadelphia to set up his law practice, having spent five years practicing law in San Francisco. Tony has brought his law partner, wispy beauty, Grace Ella with him to set up shop in Philadelphia. Rose doesn't want Tony to end up with Grace Ella. She thinks that Evelyn's daughter, Angela, curvy and a bit shy, is a much better match. Rose and Evelyn begin a campaign to get them together, no matter what . Helping out cupid on this mission are best friends, Loretta and Candy, Angela's more "experienced" friends who are trying to coax Angela out of her inertness, and into Tony's arms. "He's not gonna drop from the ceiling, ya know," We also have the addition of Angela's next-door neighbor, Apollo Apollito,, who once setting eyes on Tony, wants Tony for himself. The plot is further complicated by the entrance of Lady Regina Wellington Wetherill, who frequents the local Italian cheese shop looking for a" clothbound cheddar" Lady Wetherill, adds the steady hand to the complexity of this Rom-Com and in the end dispenses wisdom to all involved.

Director Statement

In 2019, Alex Borstein, won an Emmy Award for best supporting actress in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. In Alex's acceptance speech for the award, Alex remembered that her grandmother, a then prisoner, who while being marched to her death in the forests of Poland, made a courageous decision to just "step out of line". Her grandmother stepped out of line and an entire generation was saved by that one courageous step. "Step out of Line, ladies...just step out of line," applies to so much in today's world, for women and marginalized peoples everywhere. The end of my film not only reflects the changes that the world has had to make during Covid, but also reflects the inevitable loss that we all felt when a close member of the family died during the the Pandemic. Although, a romantic comedy, the end of the film reflects on those who left us, those of us who were irreparably changed by those losses. and those of us who suffered depression due to social Isolation. The negation of some characters as well as the change up of others, hopes to convey those themes. For all who passed, around the world, May Their Memory Be For A Blessing, and may we all go forward together in love and peace!
