Breaking The Stigma: ADHD in African Americans

This documentary aims to educate and inform the public more about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and how this neurodevelopmental disorder impacts the lives of people with it way more than you may have originally thought. It affects basically all aspects of their lives in one way or another, usually negatively. This documentary aims to clear up many myths and misconceptions concerning ADHD and has a major focus on African Americans with the disorder and their perspectives on life dealing with it.

David Brown is a Director, Editor, and producer from Dallas, TX who graduated from Texas Southern University. He has a strong passion for creating movies that tell engaging and inspiring stories. He is a dynamic filmmaker with a passion for storytelling that challenges perspectives and sparks meaningful conversations. With a keen eye for capturing the essence of human experiences, David's work delves into the complexities of our modern world, exploring the intersection of technology, society, and human relationships. His films blend cinematic artistry with a deep understanding of the human condition, creating a cinematic experience that resonates with audiences. He recently created two Feature-length documentaries centering on African Americans’ mental health, one about Depression in young black adults and the other one informing people more about ADHD and showcasing Black people’s lives with it. He believes in the power of film to amplify diverse voices and shed light on important social issues. Whether through documentaries or feature films, David strives to create films that challenge, inspire, and leave a lasting impact. As the founder of Impact Films, based in Dallas, David leads a team of passionate creatives dedicated to bringing thought-provoking stories to life.
