Stevan Filipović's first feature was Shaitan's Warrior (Šejtanov ratnik, 2006, director/co-writer). Combining genre elements from the 80’s flicks, as well as contemporary fantasy cinema, it was hailed as a breath of fresh air by both the critics and cinemagoers (~35K admissions in cinemas). Shaitan’s Warrior was screened at numerous festivals in Serbia and worldwide, at Peter Jackson's WETA Workshop in New Zealand, and won Grand Prix at Grossmann Fantasy Film Festival in Slovenia in 2006.
His next film was Skinning (Šišanje, 2010, director/co-writer), a political drama about extreme right-wing hooligans in Serbia, was the biggest domestic box office hit that year (more than 80K adm. in Serbia). It won major awards on all Serbian film festivals and was screened at more than 20 international festivals. It was distributed in UK and Germany. Skinning was the backbone of a wider campaign against violence and fascism in Serbia. The film was screened in the British Parliament and Oxford University.

Next to Me (Pored mene), is the 3rd film he directed (and co-wrote). It had the world premiere at 62nd Pula Film Festival in Croatia, and won the the Golden Arena award for best film in the int'l program. Next to me also got favorable reviews and mentions in Hollywood Reporter, Screen Daily, Cineuropa, Variety, and had more than 81K viewers in cinemas (no.1 B.O. hit of the season), winning main awards on all Serb. film festivals.
His next film Heart of Darkness (a Serbian/French/Belgian coproduction, co-written by Jasmina Kallay from Croatia/UK, to be directed by SF) got Creative Europe Media programme financial support for development.
He's also currenty developing a screenplay for a film named Blue Treasure with an UK writer Ben Ockrent (represented by Independent Talent in UK, and CAA in the States) aimed at international market, and designed by Academy and Bafta award-winning team at WETA Workshop, New Zealand (Lord of the Rings, Hobbit...).
He was on Pula International Film Festival Jury in 2016.
