Director Biography - Cory Purcell

I’m Cory Purcell ( I have been adopted Dec 7th 2021 Champion was my pre adopted name. I am legally Cory Marz Purcell), I am an Autistic 14 year old Artist/Animator and I live in star, Idaho in the United States. I attended Theanimationcourse.com online, and the school I attend is Idaho Fine Arts Academy. Idaho Arts Academy is by portfolio submission only. I submitted my art portfolio and had a 20% chance of being picked for this school. I was chosen and will finish high school there too.
I had to learn a program called clip studio and it’s animation settings during the creation of my story board for my animation class. It was frustrating a lot of the time but I had a lot of fun once I got the parts that were difficult completed.
I can’t expect for it to be easy on the first try of course.
I’ve always loved to draw since I was very young. I love to draw characters from video games or tv shows I like. I also love character designing and will attempt to make my own characters, but normally I will just trash it and take characters I like from Tv shows and redesign there outfits sometimes for fun or practice. I am working on this.
For a long time I’ve always loved animation either it being a Disney movie to an anime or an animation someone made and posted it on YouTube. It always somehow gets me motivated to draw, and even gets me to practice drawing backgrounds and more body poses with movement in it. Of course it got me interested in wanting to animate short films of my own.
I’m so happy that I finally know how to animate now.
Now, when it comes down to talking about what I will do in the future, it’s kinda hard. In the future I may want to work for Pixar or Disney to animate movies in the future. But I don’t think there animating in 2D anymore so I don’t think that will work very well for me, so I might try to work for a company that animates anime and things like that.
But if I don’t I want to become a writer and artist for my own comic book/ manga. I’ve always liked to create my own worlds once I’ve gotten my own characters created. But it’s been hard for me keeping these characters because I either try to recreate the same one over and over again or I toss them. But I’m always creating ideas for the world they are in. But sometimes I worry those dreams may not work out for me and I start to worry about it, but I think I'll be able to succeed once I get there.
