James Crebbin is a young film maker from Leicester, UK. He started writing films when he was 8 years old and started directing his own short films shortly after.
Despite not having entered films into competitions, he has produced several short films, some still in the making.
James attends the annual Phoenix Film Camp whereby he co-wrote and directed “Undead General” in 2018, co-wrote and edited “Enter” in the 2020 camp and co-wrote and edited "The Set" in the 2021 camp.
The idea for the film was conceived just after the UK was placed into its 3rd national lockdown with most communication with friends being online via video calls.
The idea of breached was to make the audience forget about covid-19 altogether and enjoy a film without needing to worry about the current struggles of the world.
The film idea is therefore not related or genre specific to the pandemic, it is only visible by the constraints such as using zoom to make the film. The aim of the film is simply to entertain, make people think, laugh, enjoy the tense thriller aspect too before returning to the busy, chaotic world we live in.
On a personal level, despite everyone having to film on their iPhones separately, we had a really nice time! Meeting every Sunday for a production meeting was always useful, not just for talking about the film and what angles and shots were needed, but also just to spend time with each other during this very lonely period. The meetings would always end with a fun game to play. I want to thank all the cast for taking part in this despite the difficult times we were in and thanks to Will for helping me with the visual effects when editing since it was completely not in my skill set!
Enjoy the film!
