Allison Harting found her passion for directing when she took a director's workshop at the age of 14. In high school, Allison took digital video production classes and theater classes to expand her knowledge of filmmaking. She directed short plays and enjoyed making humorous news stories and commercials. Her high school news show continued to use the commercials she made for school events in the years that followed Allison's graduation.
Allison has IMDB credits for her work on "Nothing Else", "Busted", and "Nefarious Angels." She also helped on a few local projects and feels using local talent is the best way to bring a community together. Allison's latest work, "Brain Waves" is one of Allison's favorite projects because she brought to life a romantic comedy she felt passionate about. "Brain Waves" brought together local actors and crew members from Reno, NV. Allison hopes to continue the story of Brain Waves with bigger and more intricate plot ideas in the future.
I grew up with a military father and a songwriting mother. My mother was often impulsive and bursting with creative ideas while my dad enjoyed routine and analyzing the programs on the history channel. It wasn't hard for me to understand the concept of an emotional right brain and a logical left brain because I thought of my parents. They're opposites that sometimes collide yet also compliment each other.
Brain Waves tells the story of a guy who has relied on his logical side more than his emotional side. The story encourages us to feel our emotions and let that guide our decision making sometimes. It also celebrates the collaboration of logic and love to achieve our goals. Brain Waves is a love story that recognizes our desire to be with clever minded people like ourselves -and to me that's the best kind of love story.
