Boulevard Film Festival is a short film festival located in Sunnyside, Queens. This festival was founded by two artists living and working in Queens. BLVDFF has been running since 2016, programming and screening local films and connecting them directly with local audiences. BLVDFF has proudly helped films from each year achieve distribution through IndiePix Unlimited, Hewes Pictures, DirectTV and Amazon Prime. The mission of the festival is to create a local forum that celebrates the art of filmmaking while supporting local filmmakers and showcasing films that are emblematic to the borough of Queens.

We are proud to be a 100% volunteer-run festival, operated by artists and filmmakers. We all have day jobs and run this festival out of the love of cinema and the hope of building a network a local filmmakers who can continue to support each other.

  • Love this local fest! It has such a community-based feel and they are set on putting filmmakers first. Our film was shown during their pandemic pivot, but the festival made sure to keep the spirit of the festival alive. They hosted talkbacks and found ways to make sure the filmmakers were networking with one another, in order to keep the spirit of the festival. They were very supportive and communicative through the entire process. Can't wait to submit to them again.

Fantastic film festival with range of films highlighting Queens and NYC filmmakers. Boulevard Film Fest (as in "Queens Boulevard") hosted the USA Premiere of my short experimental doc Hierve El Agua (Water Boils, 2018). They actually understood my avant-garde experimental music-based travel doc.. and programmed it into a program of various documentary films! Thank you Amada & Boulevard Film Fest
