Boulevard Film Festival is a short film festival located in Sunnyside, Queens. This festival was founded by two artists living and working in Queens. BLVDFF's first festival was in 2016, and we have continued to program and screen local films and connect them directly with local audiences ever since. BLVDFF has proudly helped films from each year achieve distribution through IndiePix Unlimited, Hewes Pictures, DirectTV and Amazon Prime. The mission of the festival is to create a local forum that celebrates the art of filmmaking while supporting local filmmakers and showcasing films that are emblematic to the borough of Queens.

We are proud to be a 100% volunteer-run festival, operated by artists and filmmakers. We all have day jobs and run this festival out of the love of cinema and the hope of building a network a local filmmakers who can continue to support each other.

2019 will bring the 4th Annual Boulevard Film Festival, with many more to follow. Support local cinema!

Each screening will having voting cards and an Audience Choice Award announced at the end of the event. Prizes vary each year and in the past have included monetary awards, along with donations from sponsors, such as studio rehearsal time.

  • It has been such a wonderful and great experience screening our bilingual film 'A Cycle' at Boulevard Film Festival. Matt and Amanda have been so great and wonderful at communication, it has been such a pleasure being in touch with them. The venue was great and we screened our film to a sold out audience followed by a compelling Q&A that led the audience to engage. It was great to meet other filmmakers and artists in New York. Amanda and Matt made it a very memorable and special event for our film A Cycle and I can't wait to submit further works to Boulevard Film Festival. I definitely recommend this festival to NYC filmmakers!

This is a neat little festival full of interesting work in an unexpected setting in Queens, NYC. The directors of the festival, Amanda and Matt, really hit their stride this year and made many filmmakers happy.

  • Amanda and Matt were extremely nice, responsive and accommodating! It's a small festival, but you have the opportunity to meet NY based filmmakers which is a plus for potential future collaboration! Our screening was sold out, and the room was packed with cool people!

  • Boulevard was the first festival to pick up my film, and I'm happy it was. They were very mindful with regards to identifying filmmakers who represent the diverse spectrum of New York; in particular Queens. The films were all high quality and thoughtful. The panel and audience was amazing. And the venues were all quaint and perfect for this type of film festival. I'd recommend this festival to up and coming filmmakers who are looking for that personal touch from the curators.
