Dear members of the selection committee,
I am thrilled to present my found footage horror film titled 'Bosq_Sintra_18'. This project represents my passion for the genre and my desire to explore new narrative possibilities through a realistic and immersive approach.
Since I was young, I have been fascinated by the power of cinema to immerse audiences in dark and mysterious worlds. The horror genre has always captivated me for its ability to evoke strong emotions and create tension through the use of suspense, fear, and terror. With 'Bosq_Sintra_18', I wanted to take this experience to the next level by utilizing the found footage format to create a fully immersive journey into terror.
My artistic vision for this film was to create an authentic sense of danger and tension, as if the viewers were personally experiencing the events depicted on screen. I worked closely with the cast and crew to establish a realistic environment, encouraging improvisation and natural reactions to the unfolding situations. This made the shooting process highly engaging and allowed for the genuine capture of the characters' emotions in the face of the surrounding horror.
The central theme of 'Bosq_Sintra_18' is the exploration of humanity's deepest fears. I aimed to delve into what happens when we are forced to confront our darkest anxieties and find ourselves trapped in situations from which there seems to be no escape. Through the found footage perspective, the audience will bear witness to the characters' evolution, their vulnerabilities, and their struggles for survival. I hope that this film prompts viewers to reflect on their own fears and confront them with courage.
Participating in your prestigious festival would be an extraordinary opportunity to share this story with a passionate cinema audience. I hope 'Bosq_Sintra_18' generates intense discussions and reactions among viewers, offering them a fresh perspective on horror and the art of found footage.
I would like to express my gratitude to the selection committee for their attention to my work and for the opportunity to present 'Bosq_Sintra_18'. I am confident that my film will contribute to the unique experience provided by your festival, and I look forward to joining other passionate directors in celebrating the power of cinema.
Warm regards,
Ruggiero Cilli
