Director Biography - Glenn Flansburg

Glenn Flansburg is a graduate student at the University of Oklahoma studying Creative Media Production. He has been attending college for 10 years. It wasn't always his goal to be a professional student, however, one path led to another path which led to another path, until he is where he is today.

Glenn's real passion is music. He has been creating music since he was 13 years old. Professionally he has toured the country as a bassist with his band Angelical Tears, playing festivals and sharing the stage with bands such as Twisted Sister, Bang Tango, Loudness, The Misfits, In This Moment, and countless others. Glenn has also served as a live audio soundman for music venues as well as production recordist for small independent and student short films. When not engaged in film and music productions, Glenn spends his time conducting research for his Master's thesis topic, "Gender and Heavy Metal Music."

Director Statement

“I wanted to be a rich, famous rock-and-roll star in that order.”
Dee Snider

I still remember it like it was yesterday; sitting in a condo in Breckinridge, CO in 1984, watching MTV (back when MTV still played music videos) and seeing the Twisted Sister video for “We’re Not Gonna Take It” for the first time. It was completely outrageous! The costumes, the music, the lyrics, the story line of the video; fighting against the establishment, against the “man.” It spoke to me and showed all the angst at the time and I fell in love with Heavy Metal music. Bands like Ratt, Motley Crue, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Twisted Sister helped shape who I am and got me many tough teenage years.

Hi, I'm Glenn Flansburg. I am a musician, I am an actor, I am an audio engineer, I am a cinematographer. All in all I am a "Creative Media Producer."

Thanks,
Glenn
