Bluesman
Toscho Todorovic is a Blues singer-songwriter and guitar player from Osnabrück, Germany. In this film the 70-year-old looks back on his life. Originally of Balkan immigrant descent he grew up in a conservative family. After high school his father persuades him to do an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank. There he grows increasingly unhappy with his career. He falls into a bad habits of overeating drinking too much.
After hearing a Blues record for the first time, he falls in love with the genre. A friend tells him about studying music at a conservatory. He quits his job at the bank and studies music without telling his parents. Opening up to them scares him too much, which leads to him living two lives: The one at home, where he makes up lies about what he has done all day at the bank and his real life at the music conservatory. After a year he can´t take it anymore and opens up to his father with the truth.

Nikolai Soric is a German director based in Cologne that focuses on Documentary Films. Having lived in Russia and the United States, he experienced how social structures vary in different societies. Those clashes in culture made him realize that everybody has a story to tell. Consequently, he tells the unique stories of ordinary people.
