Blueberry
A Beverly Hills tour guide gets kidnapped by the King of Pop the day before he dies.
BLUEBERRY is a surreal dark satire with elements of magical realism. It's about a Beverly Hills tour guide whose attempt at leading a tour goes terribly wrong when he finds himself in an absurd daymare where anything can and does happen including a face to face encounter with the King of Pop 24 hours before his death.

BLUEBERRY is partially based on true events. One of the events that sparked this film is written below.
The year was 2009 and I (Adam Wilder) was a Beverly Hills walking tour guide for USA Hostels in Hollywood. Twice a week, I would lead a group of tour guests from all over the world to Beverly Hills and show them around on foot. This was the only walking tour in Beverly hills at that time. We would take the city bus from Hollywood all the way to Beverly Hills. I would show them around for an hour and give them a face to face encounter with the homes of celebrities and the rich and famous.
This tour became what was known as the most infamous tour Beverly Hills has ever seen.
My tour stood out since it was the only tour on foot amongst the StarLine Tours that would pass by.
I would often tell my group that we are no longer guests on a walking tour from a hostel, but that if anyone asked, we are architecture students from UCLA. If anyone stopped us or asked what we were doing, I would point to a roof and the group would say "ooo ahhh".
One hot sunny day in June, my tour group was falling apart. The heat and walking were getting to them so we decided to sit down to try to cool off. All of a sudden, every car within a block opened up their doors and people with cameras flew out rushing the street.
A row of black Escalades slowly approached and made their way into a nearby driveway. The people with cameras attacked the Escalades screaming things like " Michael! Over here!" and "Michael! Michael! Michael!" That's when I realized that the Michael they were calling to was Michale Jackson, the King of Pop himself.
I jumped up and said to my tour, "It's Michael fucking Jackson!" We all rushed his Escalades and started chanting, "Michael! Michael!" as a camera came flying at my face. I took the hit because I wanted to see and possibly shake the hand of a person I had idolized since I was 4 years old. I couldn't help but blurt out, "Michael! I love you! I love you so much!" All of a sudden one of the Escalade's windows rolled down and a skeleton-like hand covered in bandaids reached out. A face appeared wearing dark aviator sunglasses and a surgical mask. The hand reached out to me with a peace sign. The world went silent and into slow motion and all the camera flashes seemed to disappear as Michael Jackson said in a small voice, "I love you too, Adam!"
That was the day I realized that Michael Jackson knew who I was. He had been living in Holmby Hills off of Sunset Blvd. He must have been watching my tours on his days off from training for his world tour at Staples Center. Yes, this is creepy, but it was also great material and what inspired our first feature film Blueberry.
Blueberry was written before the eye-opening documentary Leaving Neverland was released, but I think we subconsciously knew that Michael Jackson would make a great villain, which is how we wrote him in this film.
This is a story that we wanted to explore in the rawest possible way. In fact, all the tour actors in this film were not actors. They were casted by Nicole and I at gas stations, bus stops, grocery stores, banks, and even a pizza parlor. We wanted the tour to consist of real people that had no clue about the real story happening within the world of the film we were making. They only knew about the scenes they were in and no one had access to the film as a whole other than us.
Sincerely,
Adam Wilder & Nicole Daddona
