Meet Alex Goldberg and Steven Brahms. Alex studied film at Wesleyan College and Columbia University, while Steven pursued his artistic journey at RIT. Friends turned collaborators. Their work spans music videos and commercials for Santigold, Das Racist, Real Estate, Nike, Vogue, The New York Times, and GQ. Now, with "Blue Dream," they embark on an exciting new venture, diving headfirst into the anxiety filled world of Sci-Fi Stoner Comedy.
At first glance Blue Dream may appear to be perhaps the most stoned stoner series ever made. The show itself may in fact be high, but if you look deeper, Blue Dream is actually an extremely sophisticated exploration of the major issues of our time: immigration (aliens), civil rights, organized religion, and marijuana related stuff. It’s also a critique of capitalism, and a celebration of the human spirit on par with the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. You just have to get really stoned and watch it many many times to get the subtext. The subtext smokes too though, so good luck figuring that shit out.
