Martijn van Wagtendonk, drawing on a background in film and sculpture, finds inspiration in the vivacity of anything: if it moves, it impels him. He merges these two mediums intuitively, transforming movies into tangible objects and creating sculptures that dynamically unfold over time. Originally from the Netherlands, Martijn resides in Athens, Georgia, USA, alongside his family of makers, sharing a passion for creating. Additionally, he is Area Chair of Sculpture at the Lamar Dodd School of Art, where he continues to explore and teach the workings of this art practice.
