Bloody Prank
A middle-class man, committed to his "middle-class morality" of kindness, empathy, and selflessness, lives by the philosophy of "living for others and not for myself." His ideals are shattered when an old gentleman he helps unexpectedly robs him, forcing him into a crisis of faith. Torn between his moral convictions and harsh reality, he must choose whether to abandon his beliefs or find a way to stay true to his principles.

In my opinion, the world seems to be divided into two types of people: the wicked and the fools. Soumya, the protagonist of my film, belongs to the rare breed of “foolish” individuals—those who trust, get betrayed, and yet choose to trust again. His unwavering middle-class morality, rooted in kindness and belief in others, ultimately turns him into a clown on society's stage, mocked and dismissed.
In today’s world, middle-class morality has become a subject of ridicule. In a society plagued by mistrust, believing in others is often equated with naivety, marking someone as socially unfit. I often feel that the time we live in is bleeding internally while the surface is consumed by a farcical circus. For this reason, I chose dark comedy as the narrative tone for my film.
The systemic corruption around us no longer ignites rebellion. Instead, our collective rage finds expression through the meme culture of social media. Memes have become our language of dissent. This film is a product of this disoriented era, where the funniest scenes feel the most tragic, and the most tragic ones feel absurdly humorous.
Through this story, I hope to capture the contradictions of our times, where the moral compass wavers and the clown takes center stage.
