Director Statement

Blanche is a story about experiencing loss and with the help of caring friends, Tommy finds courage to hope and strength to move on. The three friends in Blanche had many miles behind them but they also have memories, experiences and moments to be lived to the fullest ahead. In spite of heartbreak or loss these friends learned what living really means, moving on through the pain.

As I composed songs for the film it was my desire that the emotion of the music would create a sense of moving forward. Tommy's vintage '65 Chevy true was the perfect vehicle to carry their story from the past to the present and towards new adventures ahead.

Blanche was filmed in west Texas over a two week period of time. Each cast member is a personal friend of screenplay writer/producer Sam Pfiester. What started out as a fun adventure for old friends to come together in west Texas to be cast in Sam's first film turned out to be a wonderful experience. Each cast member made his and her acting debut in Blanche. It was inspiring to work with these real-life west Texans, most over 60+ years old, and witness them having the time of their lives making this film.
