Black Weddings
Bodas negras "Black Weddings" presents the marriage of two young women, moments of intimacy that they are trying to transcribe through their film Super 8. But that does not please everyone. Their love is hidded. They will have to flee, hide behind hoods to survive.
Bodas Negras denounces the daily manhunt that members of the LGBTQI + community experience. In some countries of the world, in fact, these people cannot live their love in broad daylight under the threat of attacks.
In addition, female sexuality is still stigmatized and reduced to the stimulation of male desire.
We wanted to shoot this clip in Spain, at a time when the extremes are re-emerging, especially here, with the arrival of the extreme right party Vox. This party claims a retrograde and intransigent position: marriage between two people of the same sex does not have to be.
So, we filmed Bodas Negras with a real couple on May 17, World Day Against Homophobia.
