Black Pajamas

A Vietam veteran, suffering with PTSD, encounters one of his triggers when walking up to a large, vast river. He sees a woman standing near the bank facing away from him. Once he has approached the woman, he is suddenly taken to a totally new mindset due to his struggle with PTSD (represented by an obvious shift in scenery). He is now in a large white ballroom touching the shoulder of the woman from the river. When he places his hand on her back, he becomes familiar with her through a romantic dance duet. Tragically, he can never see her face while they share this moment together. When he finally gets to look at her at the end of the duet, her face looks completely distorted. Like a bad dream, his problem starts multiplying and the one woman becomes four clown-like women. The four women taunt and manipulate the veteran as they dance whimsically around him. After this strange encounter comes to an end, the man gets a chance to express himself in a quiet solo moment. The four ladies have a shift of emotion/tone and begin to dance and move with him as though they are teaching him something. How to love? How to heal? As the four women start to disappear, the man is finally taken back to the river, back to reality. He sees the one original woman once again beside the riverbank. When she turns to look at him, her face is no longer distorted and he knows that what he has just experienced wasn’t real.
