Bitterhearts
Claire and Julie, two former lovers, arrive at Claire’s apartment. After a short chitchat, the two move the conversation to Claire’s room, and she convinces Julie to have a few drinks. While Claire prepares them, Julie scours the room, trying to discern what Claire is like after all these years. While perusing a cupboard, she discovers a necklace she once gifted Claire and pockets it in the heat of the moment.
Claire returns to her room, hands Julie her drink, and then convinces Julie to play a piece on the piano. When Claire tries to reestablish more intimacy, Julie’s guilt overwhelms her, and she presents the necklace she considered stealing.
After a brief discussion, Claire tempts Julie to put the necklace on her one last time. It seems she will give in to Claire’s desires but manages to pull herself out of the entanglement.
Before all is lost, Claire launches a last futile attempt to sway Julie’s opinion, finally revealing her true feelings. However, Julie defies Claire one last time and goes her separate way.
Leaving a heartbroken Claire isolated in her apartment.
