Bismillah
Nazreen, the only child of Tashreeq and the late Ayob Mohammed (a staunch Muslim family) invites her boyfriend, Khanyolwethu, over for supper to finally meet her mother. Nazreen's mother has no idea that the guests on their way are the Radasis, a well-meaning Xhosa family. As the tension within each family reaches boiling point, they need to survive the supper.

Shaaheen Nell is a upcoming young director based in South Africa, He recently completed his BA in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA - The School For The Creative Economy. In July of 2019 Shaaheen jetted off to the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF), where he took part in the Zanzibar Student Mentorship Programme. Shaaheen brought new ideas and techniques home with him which helped him write and direct his latest work.
Bismillah is an attempt to provide local and international audiences with a glimpse into the lifestyle and subculture of the modern day Muslim South Africans.
