Binlang Xishi
Binlang Xishi is a three-channel video that delves into the concept of "Uncleanness" across various social and cultural contexts. The project comprises three segments filmed in different regions: South Korea, Taiwan, and Germany. Mooni Perry explores the discourses surrounding the sex industry and the social stigma of prostitution. The project originated from the question of how to define the notion of (un)cleanness. When something is out of its rightful place, the boundaries become blurred and ambiguous, leading to its perceived dirtiness. While there may be debate around what constitutes one's rightful place, Perry utilizes the power of "in-appropriation" to challenge and subvert the discourse.

Mooni Perry(b.1990, Seoul) is a visual artist based in Berlin and Seoul. In the past few years, she has been exploring the idea of "double-fallen" beings, individuals who do not belong to either A or B. In her recent artistic endeavors, she uses video as her medium and draws on research to create narratives that are intricately woven together in both vertical and horizontal planes. By doing so, she aims to reveal connections between seemingly unrelated events and provide a unique perspective on the concept of "double-fallen" beings, which may contribute to a deeper understanding of the complexities of human experience and society.
Perry is an alumni of BPA//Berlin program for artists, Berlin; Royal College of Art, London; Hongik University, Seoul. She exhibited internationally including solo show at Kumho Museum of Art, Seoul (2022) and group show at Museum of Contemporary Art Busan, Busan (2022); Arko Art Center, Seoul (2022); Kai Art Center, Tallinn (2022); KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2021) and she is the recipient of Ars viva prize, Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft im BDI (2021).
