Sunny Talk
The work, Sunny Talk, is generated from the process that Bing-Chi was exploring the concept of Trans-culturalism. Since a brief definition of Transculturalism is ‘seeing oneself in others’, she thought the process of communication and exchange in our daily life is the initial channel to make this 'ism' happen.
Bing-Chi used a series of dialogues to display something happened in the East and West daily life, in which the possible thinking points of the cultures and values of both sides were enclosed. The interwove languages and scripts in the work includes Taiwanese, Traditional Chinese, and English, in order to imply that language itself is the medium of cultural interaction.
In short, the artist dug her experience, and used both found and made images and videos, and the travel recordings as well as life recordings, to piece together and express the observations of the world we live in. Besides, the audience could be the bystander or like being one of the members in the dialogues.

Bing-Chi Wu is a multimedia artist from Taiwan. Her recent projects investigate how collage can be developed as the means of the poetic and the medium of communication, facing the international community and Trans-culturalism. She is researching into the concepts and methods of collage within the 2-dimesional, 3-dimensional, overall space and video. She has an established interest and predisposition for spiritual concepts, symbolism, contextualisation, and multilayered narratives. Her practice explores the complex but fascinating relationship between art, existence and the situations in the moment.
