Leisure, sport, and transportation—the bicycle serves many purposes. It’s our companion on weekly training rides, daily commutes, and even when we venture into unknown territory far from home. No other vehicle is as simple, sustainable, and versatile. That’s why we believe the journey to a greener future begins on two wheels.

With the BIKE FILM TOUR, we celebrate this incredible invention with an annual selection of handpicked bike films, inviting cyclists of all kinds to see beyond the end of their handlebars.

Each season, we curate 5–10 short films (up to 40 minutes) for our annual program. Longer films are also considered if the filmmakers are open to creating a shorter version for the tour. If a film is selected, the filmmakers will receive a licensing fee, negotiated based on the film’s running time, level of exclusivity, and production value.

The BIKE FILM TOUR is not a festival in the traditional sense (one location, many different films/programs) but rather a traveling film tour. We curate a single program and present it in 30+ locations across Europe, reaching more than 13,500 visitors.

Since we feature only a small selection of films, being chosen for the program is already an achievement in itself. On top of that, we invite our audience to vote for their favorite film of the season, awarding the BIKE FILM TOUR AUDIENCE AWARD.

Road biking, mountain biking, e-biking, ultra cycling, unicycling, fixies… we embrace all kinds of bike-related stories. While documentaries are the heart of our program, we also welcome animations and short features.

Films may be submitted in any language; English subtitles are mandatory.

All applicants must hold the intellectual property and distribution rights for the submitted film. They are also responsible for securing the necessary performance rights for any music used and must provide proof upon request. The BIKE FILM TOUR assumes no responsibility for any copyright infringement.

Applicants should include at least three high-resolution press images with their submission.

If a film is selected for the program, the BIKE FILM TOUR will contact the filmmakers and provide detailed technical specifications for film delivery.
