Bijou Of The Forest

Under the trees in the forest, Bijou rests. When he hears footsteps nearby, he looks around and sees a hunter with a rifle on his back walking into the forest, so he decides to follow.

Just as the hunter is about to hunt a deer, Bijou comes up behind him and pulls the rifle out of his hand. As Bijou and the hunter tug back and forth on the rifle, the hunter pulls the trigger and shoots Bijou in the heart. To dispose of Bijou, who loses consciousness due to blood loss, the Hunter hides him in a hollowed tree in the depths of the forest. Bijou breathes his last breath in the moonlit tree hollow.

The next day Bijou opens his eyes in a new body that is half deer and half human. When he comes out of the hollow, he hears the sound of a rifle in the distance and realizes that the Hunter has returned. He stalks and preys on the Hunter. As the Hunter is captured by Bijou, the spirits of the animals he killed gather around and stare at him. As the Hunter struggles, the scene fades to black and only the sound of dismemberment is heard. When the black fades away we see that Bijou sits by the river in the forest and washes the dirt off his hands.
