Experiencing Interruptions?

Big Dreams Underneath The Little Screens

In a pandemic situation, the shift in learning activities from face-to-face to online has forced various parties to “re-learn” and adapt to conditions that are far from ideal. For some people, this is exacerbated by the limited access to electronic devices. Moreover, the teacher's responsibility seems to shift to the hands of each parent who supervise learning activities directly at home. Like most people in his school environment, Zaidan and his family is left with no other choice but to be content with this ineffective education system.

Director Statement

The implementation of quarantine during pandemic has shifted all learning activities that were originally done face-to-face. These changes affects the dynamics of learning, forcing parents to learn to understand the learning capacities of their respective children and teachers to “re-learn” about how to best take advantage of technological developments. Unfortunately, people who have limited access to technology will certainly experience greater difficulties in participating. The difficult adaptation process to distance learning system further illustrates high inequality in education, especially during the pandemic.
The message aimed to be conveyed by this film is how the challenges of ensuring effective learning during the pandemic have not yet been overcome. This film is expected to reveal more about the implementation of the distance learning system and people's attitude towards the system. This film is also intended to increase audience’s awareness, especially those from the upper middle class, regarding the problems that comes with distant learning system for people with economic limitations.
